Reducing Schedule and Risk Through Interoperability in Process Projects

While fast-tracking projects is not a new concept in the process and power industries, the current global events impacted by the pandemic has resulted in increased urgency for new pharmaceutical projects.

For process projects where a high percentage of the piping system is required to be analyzed, the traditional engineering workflow has been a manual, time-consuming paper process of passing piping support reactions to the structural department. As such, any changes to the upstream process flows result in a verification or complete rework of the structural supporting system.

Join us for a technical demonstration of this problem featuring a workflow with interoperability of the downstream analysis software that can reduce project conflicts and errors resulting in an environment that is prepared to quickly resolve fundamental process changes. This allows for multiple pipe stress engineers to pass changes to one structural engineer in a way that greatly reduces engineering collaboration time from hours to just minutes.

     Ravi Ozarker, P.E., P. Eng

Ravi Ozarker is currently the GT STRUDL Product Owner for Hexagon PPM. As a structural engineer and engineering software developer for the past 14 years, Ravi has worked for a variety of organizations in different roles, including consulting engineering, government agencies, software companies, EPCs, and more. Ravi has a Bachelor of Applied Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Waterloo, Canada and is a licensed Professional Engineer in Texas and Ontario.

Geoff Blumber is the Design and Analysis Solutions Technical Sales Manager for North America at Hexagon PPM. With over 23 years of experience in technology, construction management, vibration/acoustical and structural engineering, Geoff has real insight into customer pain points and how leveraging technology can improve design and engineering workflows in today’s complex and competitive projects. Geoff has a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.
